LONDON - The marketing director of Tesco's Clubcard loyalty scheme, Andrew Mann, has moved into the newly created role of marketing director for planning for the chain's UK business.

Mann is to be responsible for planning, strategy and innovation in Tesco's marketing programmes. He will report to the company's UK marketing director, Lance Bachelor.

Taking over as Clubcard's marketing director is Janet Smith, who leaves the post of director of range and merchandising.

Mann said his new job would involve driving innovation and looking at how different aspects of Tesco's marketing, such as its advertising, promotion and Clubcard schemes, fit together strategically.
