Brands to target social networking sites with new service
LONDON - Marketers are being encouraged to target consumers via social networks by signing up to Jam, an initiative developed by digital agency i-level.
Jam is designed to provide support for brands looking to engage with internet users via social networks, blogs and forums.
The initiative is intended to help brands create a dialogue with consumers by using social media sites as sounding boards for pros-pective marketing strategies or product launches.

According to i-level, Jam will blend word-of-mouth monitoring, online PR, search-engine marketing, media planning and buying, research and advertising to provide a comprehensive social media service.
UK advertisers are trailing behind their US counterparts when it comes to exploiting the burgeoning power of social networks, according to TNS.
