Fallon sweeps the board at British Television Ad Awards

LONDON - Fallon scooped the top two gongs at the British Television Advertising Awards last night (Wednesday), winning the Thinkbox Award for the Best TV Commercial of the Year for Cadbury 'gorilla' and the Agency of the Year accolade.

The agency romped home with 11 golds, including three for “gorilla”, three for Sony Bravia “Play-Doh” and two for Sony Walkman “music pieces”. It also took the John Webster Award for the Best 30-second TV Commercial for its Skoda Fabia “cake” spot, which won three other gold awards.

Mother took home two golds for Boots for “here come the girls” and one for the brand’s “get beach gorgeous” campaign. Robert Saville and Mark Waites, the agency’s founding partners, received The Chairman’s Award for outstanding contribution to the commercials industry.

Other gold winners included Beattie McGuinness Bungay for Carling “space” and Bartle Bogle Hegarty for Levi’s “dangerous liaison”.

Paul Silburn, the chairman of the judges and a creative partner at Saatchi & Saatchi, said: “The jury felt that this year saw a resurgence in the quantity of great TV work.”
