BBC, Apple and Google the most blogged about brands
LONDON - The BBC, Apple and Google are the most blogged about brands, while Marks & Spencer is mentioned by UK bloggers more than any other retailer.
The findings come from Prompt Communications, based on a study of 908 blog posts during December 2007 and January 2008.
Apple (51) and the BBC (47) were the highest-ranking brands in terms of mentions, followed by Google (26). The twelve brands in equal tenth place only received seven mentions each during the study.

Facebook came fourth overall with 17 mentions, followed by Nintendo, which was mentioned 16 times.
Within the websites and social networking category, Facebook was followed by Google (16), YouTube (11) and then eBay (7), while MySpace, Flickr and Twitter all received six mentions.
Cadbury's (7) emerged at the top of the food and drink category, just ahead of Coca Cola (6).
"Reading blogs is an excellent way of understanding what Britons think about," said Hazel Butters, managing director, Prompt Communications.
"Contrary to the stereotypical image of the blogger as a lonely, male, geek, our study showed that an extraordinarily broad cross-section of British society keeps a personal journal online."
Prompt monitored 100 UK-based blogs over the one-month period, and recorded every mention made of a brand, company or product.
Where brand recognition of individual products is very strong, for example the iPod, Wii or Playstation, these products were counted as mentions of the parent brand.
