Teletext launches Holidays mobile internet portal

LONDON - Teletext has unveiled a mobile internet holidays portal as it continues to expand its digital and interactive services.

The launch follows on from the success of its mobile internet service, which launched in 2006.

The Holidays service, developed by Eagle Eye Technology, uses existing Teletext web technology and allows customers to browse through thousands of holiday offers from multiple retailers, destination guides and up-to-date holiday weather information via a WAP-enabled mobile phone.

The service allows customers to make a phone call to book directly from an offer.

Gary Merry, head of product at Teletext Holidays, said: "We believe that we have the best TV and online travel services in the UK and have been working for some time to bring this service onto our successful mobile internet site.

"Every day millions of people use our TV and online services to find a holiday and now those customers that are mobile users can access our service on the move."

To access the Teletext Holidays mobile portal users simply text Holidays to 84300 to obtain a free link to the front page of the service.

Alternatively they can enter www.teletextholidaysmobile.mobi into the browser on a WAP enabled mobile phone.
