LONDON - A free magazine, which will be distributed in areas served by the Northern Line Tube service, is being launched with the backing of an online community.

The magazine, called 'The Other Side', has partnered with Webjam, a social publishing tool, to create an online interactive community in an effort to tap into an audience of more culturally aware and web-savvy Londoners.

The online community, which will allow readers to interact with other readers and journalists, will be filled with news, opinion, reviews and events happening around the Northern Line.

Newspaper founder Sam Lassman Watts said that the web partnership was critical to the ethos of the magazine. 'The Other Side is all about bringing people together and allowing them to play an active part in how the magazine develops and is used, not just drip-feeding Londoners with the same old titbits.'

Webjam chief executive Yann Motte said that the site offered readers an interactive experience where they can play a part in shaping the magazine in print and online.
