Direct marketing role axed in Vodafone restructure
LONDON - Richard Broadbent, Vodafone's head of direct marketing, has become the third key executive to leave the mobile phone firm's marketing department as part of a widespread redundancy programme.
Broadbent's departure follows that of Tim Yates, chief marketing officer, and Dominic Chambers, head of marketing, last month.
Charlie Smith, head of advertising and media, is now overseeing Vodafone's marketing activities, but a spokesman for the company said this was likely to be a "temporary" arrangement.

Vodafone announced in March that it was looking to make around 450 redundancies at its Newbury base, including up to 100 senior management positions.
A similar number of jobs will be created further down the managerial chain, with the hiring of 330 retail advisors and 130 salespeople.
In a trading update earlier this year, Vodafone announced below-inflation revenue growth from its European operations in the last three months of 2007, up 2% year on year.
