Golley Slater lands two green contracts

Golley Slater has won two environmental contracts in Wales.

The agency’s Cardiff office has won Carbon Trust Wales and retained the Waste Awareness Wales campaign.

The agency will provide Carbon Trust Wales with regional PR support to help encourage Welsh businesses and public sector organisations to embrace energy management and efficiency. It will also support the development of low-carbon technologies in Wales.

The campaign will aim to establish Carbon Trust Wales as the leading agency for delivering energy efficiency improvements.

'If you look at how Welsh business has developed, we have a higher proportion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) than the UK in general,' said Golley Slater director Matt Appleby about the Carbon Trust Wales win.

'That presents its own challenges for reaching SMEs and getting them to think about reducing the impact of their activities and getting their carbon footprint down.'

Meanwhile, Golley Slater will continue to handle both PR and advertising for Waste Awareness Wales, with the aim of raising awareness of sustainable waste management issues within Wales and encouraging practical action from consumers over the next two years.

Waste Awareness Wales is funded by the Welsh Assembly government.

Golley Slater won both accounts in competitive pitches.

The accounts are being led by Appleby, reporting to manager for Wales Mike Batt on Carbon Trust Wales and manager Anna Richards on Waste Awareness Wales.
