BT unveils branded entertainment site
LONDON - BT has launched BT Podshow, a website hosting more than 1 million hours of podcasts, as it aims to strengthen its position as an entertainment provider.
BT PodShow (http://www.btpodshow.com/) allows users to collect and share videos and music, upload their own content and build a network of friends.

"The BT PodShow network has a broad range of programming to suit every taste. Audiences can view online at any time, or choose to subscribe for automatic download to their iPods," said Adam Curry, president at BT PodShow.
Initial content ranges from music to gaming programme, a weekly online sex therapist show and comedy at. Further podcasts are set to be added over the year, including a cookery show, entertainment gossip programme and sports news round-up show.
A weekly podcast round-up, Podfinder UK, searches the network for the pick of podcasts and video blogs.
Users download content directly to their computer, mp3 player or mobile phone.

How does this differ from YouTube, Facebook, Google Video etc? I'd be interested to know how much branded content is going to be produced / broadcast by BT itself. Will they be promotional at all, akin to the subtle product placement vids on Bebo.
