LONDON - Confectionery company Haribo has awarded Quiet Storm the ad accounts for its Maoam and Haribo brands, following a review.

The appointment was made following a pitch against undisclosed agencies.

Quiet Storm will take over all advertising responsibilities for both Haribo and Maoam, which were previously handled by Kastner & Partners.

Haribo has advertised on TV for more than 10 years and plans to increase spending in this area in 2008.

Katy Storey, product group manager at Haribo, said: "We are pleased to be working with Quiet Storm and look forward to building on the Haribo and Maoam brands with them."

Haribo is one of the world's biggest manufacturers of gums and jelly sweets.

Jon Howard, head of planning at Quiet Storm, said: "This is a fantastic win for everyone at Quiet Storm. You can't help but smile when you think of Haribo and Maoam, and there's very few brands you can say that about! We look forward to creating some great results."

Haribo's media is handled by Mediaedge:cia Manchester and remains unaffected by the appointment.
