LONDON - Albion has been appointed to handle the £15 million relaunch of Virgin Radio, following last week's acquisition of the radio station by TIML Golden Square.

The agency won the business without a pitch, but has been in ongoing talks with Absolute Radio, the radio consultancy that is working with TIML on the relaunch.

TIML, the publisher of the Times of India newspaper, bought the radio station from SMG in a deal worth £53.2 million.

It is currently developing a new music and entertainment brand that is scheduled to launch in September.

Albion is expected to be involved closely with the rebranding, including the naming of the new station.

It will develop a marketing campaign that will break in September and is expected to run across digital, TV, press and outdoor.
