LONDON - Future, the specialist media group, has signed an exclusive development agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) to provide a monthly digital programme for Sony's PlayStation network.

The programme, named Qore, will launch on 5 June across the US, and Future says it is in discussions with Sony's UK operations about launching the programme in the UK.

Future claims the programme marks the first time that gamers will be able to download high-definition games coverage directly through their console's broadband connection for viewing on TV screens.

Users will be charged a fee for the magazine programme, which will be launched with sponsors including Burger King and Universal Pictures. Its content will include playable demos, game previews and interviews with key industry figures.

Stevie Spring, chief executive of Future, said: "As the publisher of Official magazines for SonyPlayStation in the US and the UK, our strategy is to create powerful integrated media solutions for readers and advertisers across different platforms, in print and online."

Future produces a number of specialist magazines in the UK, including Total Film and gadget magazine T3.
