GCap sells Planet Rock to entrepreneur Bluemel
LONDON - GCap Media has sold digital station Planet Rock for a nominal sum to a new company run by entrepreneur Malcolm Bluemel.
According to GCap, Bluemel is a "a rock and radio fan", supported by some of the biggest names in rock, including Planet Rock DJs Fish and Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath, as well as Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull and Gary Moore. He runs a company called TLCS Global Visa Services, which manages visa and passport applications for corporate customers.

The sale has gone through with immediate effect. Last week, GCap sold Xfm Wales to Town & Country Broadcasting.
GCap said "for the time being" the station would continue to be broadcast on national DAB and from GCap's Leicester Square studios.
Last week, Queen guitarist Brian May, who had been in talks to acquire the station, revealed on his blog that the station had been sold to a third undisclosed party.

This could lead to bad blood among the rock elite. I bet May is smashing his Jethro Tull collection right now.
