GCap sells DAB radio station Planet Rock to entrepreneur
LONDON - GCap Media has confirmed that has sold digital music station Planet Rock for an undisclosed sum to a consortium led by Malcolm Bluemel, a millionaire rock fan who runs a visa and passport applications business.
Bluemel has taken control with immediate effect.
In a statement, GCap said that the winning consortium was supported by a number of the genre's biggest names, including Black Sabbath's Tony lommi and Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson.

Bluemel beat off competition from Queen guitarist Brian May, who said last week that he was 'shocked and hugely disappointed' not to be able to buy the station.
GCap put Planet Rock up for sale in February as part of its retreat from DAB radio. The station went on to be named digital station of the year at the Sony Radio Academy Awards earlier this month.
The station will continue to broadcast from Leicester Square for the time being.
