The penultimate episode of the business reality series, in which contestant Lucinda Ledgerwood was fired by Sir Alan Sugar, pulled in a 32.9% share of the audience.
The programme, showing at 9pm, has suffered in recent weeks in the face of a strong performance by ITV1, which has drawn bigger audiences with the Champions League Final and a live semi-final of 'Britain's Got Talent', which was concluded on Saturday.
Normal service has now resumed, with Sir Alan Sugar back on top in the primetime ratings war.
The last episode of ITV1's 'The Great British Body' drew 2.5m viewers and an 11.1% share in the same slot as 'The Apprentice', concluding a pretty dismal run for the three-part series in which Trinny and Susannah challenged the British public to strip naked.
Channel 4's second episode of cookery series 'River Cottage Spring', featuring Devon-based chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, grew its audience by 0.5m viewers to 2.4m and a 10.3% share between 9pm-10pm. Including Channel 4+1 ratings, it had 2.7m viewers and an 11.6% share.
BBC Two's 'Coast', in which Nicholas Crane presents a 13-week journey around the coast of the UK, brought in 2.1m viewers and a 9.3% share in the 9pm-10pm slot.
Earlier in the evening, Channel 4's returning property series 'Location, Location, Location' netted a healthy 2.7m viewers and a 13.2% share between 8pm-9pm, with Channel 4+1 taking the ratings up to 2.9m viewers and a 13.8% share.
The broadcaster is launching the ninth series of 'Big Brother' tonight, with the contestants set to unveil the new housemates in 'Big Brother Launch Show' at 9pm-10.40pm.

I'm so glad Lucinda went last night, she was really getting on my nerves... what is with the berets? She also looked awful with her new short hair cut on the BBC 2 follow up programme - good riddance.
I agree - the colourful, exuberent tat was to mask a dull personality. She should have been fired weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Lucinda, she is clearly intelligent and a good leader (there is nothing wrong with being a good leader - only). I also hate the fact that Alex, Lee and Helene gang up on her in the boardroom last night, what a group of losers!
I think Clair will win.
I completely disagree Oceana.
If you are only a good leader then start your own company or work as a contractor. If you can only be a leader, and can't work as part of a team, then you can't be an apprentice working for and with other people.
The others were quite right to pick up on her comments about her not being sure if she wants the job. If she's not sure, she should back out, and leave it to the people that really want it.
I'm with Lisa on this. This is a competition - everyone's in it to win it and Lucinda really opened herself up for the attack she got by voicing her doubts. It was complete suicide!
I also think it was suicide for Lee to mess up his CV - and then be allowed to go forward, although I spose if it got him that far in the competition then fair play - maybe its the way to get ahead these days - lie! Not sure that Lucinda's dress sense should be slated tho (so what?!) I thought she was unique - a love her or hate her type... Sir A just was the latter.
Ros, if they discounted every Apprentice candidate who lied on their application form, sorry, CV then they would all be disqualified for whatever they wrote for "why I'd really like to work for Surallan".

A top headhunter once told me that around a third of candidates lie about something in their CV- usually the grade of their degree or how many A Levels they have. I think the headhunter who was on "Your Fired" said much the same. My source also told me that they always checked claimed degree qualifications with the university- but when candidates were challenged, most tried to brazen it out, rather like Lee initially tried to do.I have also read a newspaper article about an ex colleague, who was called an "Oxbridge Man", when I knew he had gone to Manchester!
I once discovered a lie on the cv of the candidate I was interviewing, and both of us felt his last moment had come- but he was so good at talking his way out of a very difficult situation that I decided to give him the (sales) role anyway. Like Lee, I am sure he would never do such a stupid thing again! The irony for Lee was that, as was said, with 10 years + of successful working experience , the paper qualifications should hardly have mattered anyway- but his lie renewed interest in them.
Lisa i thought she looked absolutely fabulous on the after show actually although i am very pleased to see her go. Lee should win after being named and shamed for his CV gaff! o how very funny that was!
