Big Brother housemate warned bullying is unacceptable
LONDON - Less than one week into 'Big Brother 9' and abusive behaviour has already surfaced in the form of feisty housemate Alexandra, who yelled at fellow housemates over burnt chips in last night's show.
The argument attracted 200,000 extra viewers for Channel 4, compared with the previous night, taking it to 3.5m and a 19.9% share of the 10pm audience. Including Channel 4+1, it increased to 3.6m viewers and a 20.8% share.

Alexandra turned on nursery nurse Rebecca, unleashing a tirade of swear words, after she accidentally burnt the chips for the group's dinner.
Rebecca attempted to defend herself saying: "I'm happy to step out, but I didn't wanna like, not do anything and then have people saying 'Ooh, you haven't been helping'".
Alexandra snapped back with: "Who cares what people are gonna say?"
When fellow housemate Rachel stepped in and tried to defend Rebecca, Alexandra cut her off yelling: "Excuse me. Getting up and trying to play the martyr, trying to defend anyone, you might as well just sit back babes. That kind of shit's not gonna wash round me."
In the course of the argument, she also called Rebecca a "bitch" and Stephanie a "prick".
Following the argument, Rachel went to the diary room to complain to Big Brother about Alexandra's behaviour, which she said amounted to bullying.
Alexandra was later called into the diary room and Big Brother warned her that abusive behaviour would not be tolerated in the house.
Channel 4 will be keen to show that it is taking a strong stance on bullying in the house following the racism row during 'Celebrity Big Brother' in which Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was the victim of racist bullying from Jade Goody and other housemates.
In 'Big Brother 8' last year Emily was forced to leave the house after using a racially offensive word.

Big Brother attracts nut jobs. Shocker. Channel 4 should make an example of this woman and boot her out. Otherwise it condones her behaviour.

how about just cancelling BB altogether. its so boring now. one stereotype after the other. its not even pleasant rubbish TV anymore. its just rubbish.
Gordon Macmillan - 11/06/2008
Channel 4 just can not let it go, it seems to want to hang on and on to this programme.

There's another 2 years left on C4's contract with Endemol so series 10 and 11 are on their way. Maybe C4 should've allowed ITV to pay silly money for the rights the last time the contract was up for grabs to free it up to build its next big ratings winner.

Two more years? That's terrible. It's like it will never end. Davina McCall's kids will end up presenting this show. Jeez Louise.
BTW Two more years? It is also a really good Bloc Party Song. I think we should adopt it for the campaign to end Big Brother Early.
Tommy Mancktelow - 11/06/2008
oh yeh i love that song. but i think it would damage Bloc Party's image to be associated with BB to be honest. maybe Lily Allen can then.
Gordon Macmillan - 11/06/2008
Well Lilly does act like something out of Big Brother most of the time falling over drunk and being carried out by security. Smile.

i find the whole thing very depressing. When i saw bits of last night's episode (which was my first bb watch this year) I found myself almost feeling sorry for this girl. She is clearly not a hugely bright individual and unbelievably angry to the point that she might have genuine mental health issues. Absolutely she should be kicked out - as much for the fact that her behaviour was bullying as for the damage she is doing to herself by being in there. The world is killing itself with carbon or blowing itself up in market squares or binge drinking and fighting on the streets or campaiging against life saving science on religious grounds - and we sit as a nation transfixed by celebrity hungry morons with less than two brain cells to rub together. Can I leave on the next available spaceship please?

Yes .. Up and down our fine country, pouring through millions of our fine people, to find 16 of the very finest we have.
Fine.
"Yes, fine, I understand .."
Joanne Smalley - 12/06/2008
Can we please get rid of this unbelievable dross. You have to query the mental health of anyone who wants to appear on the show in the first place.
