LONDON - Social networking site MySpace will unveil next week its first major global redesign, which includes changes to its home page, navigation, profile editing, search and TV player.

The new-look site has a number of visible differences to its homepage. These include a more simplified log-in procedure as well as more opportunity for advertisers to engage with users. In the US the redesign will be launched with a branded splash page takeover by a major advertiser who has yet to be named.

New site navigation will also be a key feature of the re-launch. Users will also be able to use an advanced new profile editor that introduces new styles and colours to make profiles more specific and customised.

MySpace is also working to improve its search capabilities and now search results will be tabbed, with five tabs based on the top five search categories of  ‘People, MySpace site searches, Web searches, Music and MySpaceTV.'

The MySpaceTV player has also been redesigned with a number of new features as well as offering a more flexible advertising platform with multiple formats.
