London agencies flood Cannes film prize shortlist

CANNES - In a rousing comeback, the UK has racked up 80 mentions on the Film Lions shortlist, released in Cannes this afternoon.

The entries in with a chance of scooping a Lion are shared between 25 UK agencies, including two regional outfits - McCann Erickson Manchester and Bristol-based Aardman Animations.

As expected, Fallon is heavily represented, with campaigns for a span of brands including Cadbury's Dairy Milk, Skoda, Sony Cybershot, Sony Walkman and Sony Bravia and Orange.

The other UK agencies shortlisted are: Ogilvy; Publicis; The Red Brick Road, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO; Beattie McGuinness Bungay; JWT; Bartle Bogle Hegarty; DDB; Nitro; Wieden & Kennedy; TBWA; Lowe; McCann Erickson; McCann Erickson Manchester; M&C Saatchi; Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R; WCRS; Saatchi & Saatchi; Euro RSCG; 4 Creative; Mother; CHI & Partners; Shop; Leo Burnett and The Rumpus Room.

TBWA/Chiat/Day New York's Touch campaign is tipped to slug it out with Fallon London's Gorilla for the Grand Prix.
