Pushing Daisies to return to screens in 2009
LONDON - ITV1 has bought the second season of the comedy drama series 'Pushing Daisies', starring Anna Friel, which is set to return to viewer's screens in 2009.
Friel stars in the eight-part drama as Charlotte "Chuck" Charles, the childhood sweetheart of pie-maker Ned, played by Lee Pace, who can bring people back to life by touching them.
The show's first season was broadcast in the 9pm-10pm slot, however, the second series which is set to return next year is going to be given a primetime slot on ITV1 to give it a boost.

The series, which aired on ABC in the US, was nominated for a Golden Globe award and was predicted to be too "quirky' by some for ITV. However, it proved itself to be a steady success pulling in about 5.7m viewers on its pilot episode as it competed with shows such as 'Casualty' on BBC One.
Subsequent episodes did lose some audience and ITV cut episode two of the drama because of ITV's commitments to the Euro 2008 football championship.
The second episode was later made available on ITV's website where viewers could catch up on that and other episodes they have missed.

Erm, so what? I thought this was a marketing bulletin, not the TV Times.

Fair enough, but there was absolutely no analysis or attempt to add any relevance to this report. It read like an ITV press release: surely your journalism isn't that lazy? I know it's nearly the weekend...

Analysis or relevance? It requires no analysis it is a news story on a breaking news site. We carry analysis, but this in our archive from our magazine brands. The news we post is both long and short form. Both are like news posted a wire service so can not be lazy weekend or no weekend. The goal is to report the news first and move along. Journalism 101. Relevance is defined by our audience.
