The Week: Brand news - Primark protest staged
Primark's Oxford Street store was the focus of a protest against child labour, organised by War On Want, on Monday (23 June).
The demonstration preceded a Panorama report, which was broadcast on the
same day and watched by 4.2 million. It showed an 11-year-old Tamil girl
sewing sequins on to a shirt from the shop's Secret Possessions range.

Primark has already sacked three clothing suppliers in India after being
told that the programme had evidence that they were subcontracting to
child workers.
