LONDON - Video search engine Blinkx has teamed up with on-demand content aggregator On Networks to widen the availability of its service.

Blinkx will place relevant ads next to footage carried via On Networks and will share ad revenue with the aggregator.

The search engine is currently the world's largest video search engine, offering more than 26 million hours of video, audio, viral and TV content from more than 350 partners.

On Networks offers more than 30 shows across topics such as the history of video games, and creative cocktail-mixing.

Jen Grogono, chief content officer, for On Networks, said: "We are committed to delivering our TV shows across premium platforms that allow us to reach, target and engage a range of consumer segments."

In May, reports suggested that the company was in takeover talks, after reports that Google and News Corporation were considering a bid.

However, the video search engine, founded in 2004, has since played down the suggestion of possible takeover bids.

In April, Blinkx expanded its content offering by striking partnerships with two leading UK media owners, The Guardian and Five.
