Radiohead gig supports Scottish environment campaign

Rock band Radiohead are today putting their weight behind an environment charity's bid to encourage politicians to draw up tougher laws around climate change.

The band is playing a gig as part of Friends of the Earth Scotland's Big Ask Scotland climate change campaign, designed to put pressure on Scottish ministers to put tougher measures into the Climate Bill that is expected to become law next year.

Measures the charity wants to see in the bill include a cap on the country's total carbon emissions until 2050.

Members of the band have employed consultants to reduce the environmental impact of Radiohead tours.

"We're doing what we can to tackle climate change and encourage our fans to do the same," said the band's lead singer, Thom Yorke.
