ESPN Star Sports renews World Cup rights in India
MUMBAI - ESPN Star Sports has renewed its broadcast partnership with FIFA, the world's governing body for football, to broadcast the 2010 FIFA World Cup and other international football events in the Indian sub-continent.
The deal gives the channel broadcast rights to more than 275 international football matches, including the World Cup, and stretches over India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan and Nepal.

Sepp Blatter (pictured) president of FIFA, said: The fact that ESPN Star Sports is entering its record deal in the Indian market underlines its commitment to football. It ensures that the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be seen by the widest possible audience across steadily growing football markets.
