LONDON - BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, is to make its content available via internet TV platform Babelgum.

BBC Worldwide will provide a variety of short-form content including a number of David Attenborough documentaries, in addition to Tribe and Top Gear, to be distributed by Babelgum.

Clips shown on the service will be supported by advertising and will be made available through three new branded Babelgum channels: BBC LoveEarth and BBC Knowledge, both available today, and BBC Entertainment, which will be available early next week.

The deal represents the latest move by BBC Worldwide to broaden its reach to new channels and outlets.

Babelgum, which launched in March, began operations with initial advertisers Vodafone, Yamaha and Dunlop.
