The Week: DDB sees off Saatchis to scoop £85m Oz tourism brief
DDB has landed the £85 million global Tourism Australia advertising account following a two-way shoot-out against Saatchi & Saatchi.
Publicis Mojo, Singleton Ogilvy & Mather, TBWA\Whybin and the incumbent
agency, M&C Saatchi, were also involved in the review in its early
stages. M&C Saatchi was responsible for the controversial "Where the

DDB's first task will be to maximise the marketing opportunities arising
out of Baz Luhrmann's latest movie, Australia, starring Nicole Kidman
and Hugh Jackman, scheduled for UK release in November.
Rick Allert, the Tourism Australia chairman, said: "In appointing DDB
Worldwide, we have chosen an agency partner that not only provides the
requisite international network and infrastructure credentials, but is
also, most importantly, at the top of the creative game globally."
