Infolines rolls out new payphone ad panels
LONDON - Payphone operator Infolines Public Networks has launched a new advertising product by remodelling its kiosks and kitting them out with new six-sheet ad panels.
The company has rolled out a new form of disabled-friendly kiosk that allows wheelchair access and space for mobility vehicle users. The larger kiosks will provide two six-sheet facades, while a standard high street phone kiosk has space for only one.

Infolines, the third largest payphone operator in the country, operates a network of more than 500 kiosks in UK cities and has begun refurbishing its sites. It has also installed kiosks in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Camden and the City. New payphone sites are also being installed in Brighton and Bristol, and the sites have been booked by advertisers.
The company is now looking to refurbish or install 300 further kiosks in London, while extending the new ad format to areas such as Birmingham and Manchester.
It is in talks with investors with a view to speeding up this development timetable.
- MediaWeek would like to clarify that Euro Payphone, and not Infolines, designed the disabled-friendly kiosks being rolled out by Infolines.

I am the Managing Director of Euro Payphone Ltd a 19 year old Belfast based Street Payphone Operator. I have to say that I very concerned about your article on Infolines Public Neworks claiming to have designed a new form of disabled-friendly kiosk that allows wheelchair access and space for mobility vehicle users. I must advise you that these kiosks were designed by Euro Payphone Limited who hold a design registration with the Intellectual Property Office. The first kiosk was launched by Euro Payphone Ltd in Belfast May 2007. We have supplied Infolines with ten kiosks to date and have not at this date granted them any exclusivity rights. As the owner of the design rights and as an Ofcom licensed UK payphone operator we are seeking talks with investors to launch the product UK wide. Gerry Judge Euro Payphone Ltd Tel 028 90403304
