WPP is to form a new healthcare brand out of the imminent merger of Cohn & Wolfe and GCI.

GCI Health will be led by Jill Dosik as president, whilst Paul Keirnan, becomes managing director for GCI Health London and will spearhead pan-European development efforts.

'GCI Health becomes a specialist agency in an industry that is becoming more complex and requiring focused and high-science expertise,' said Dosik.

GCI Health becomes a Cohn & Wolfe Group company, but operating independently.

It will advise across the healthcare sector including on regulatory, product crisis and public affairs, and the digital arena.

Agency chiefs said they were looking to expand the brand into 'additional major and emerging markets'.
