LONDON - MySpace has partnered with Warner Music Entertainment to launch an online comedy channel.

MySpace Comedy UK (www.myspace.com/comedyuk) will host Comedybox.tv, an online comedy platform that will include rare clips from big names as well as shorts from new acts and user-generated content.

The site has also partnered with gum brand Trident to launch the MySpace Trident Comedy Awards, inviting comedians to submit short video clips that will be voted on by the online community.

The channel launch comes shortly after MySpace rolled out a branded channel with Mars Planets, Mars Planets Radio, in a link-up with presenter Alex Zane.

His weekly show invites hopeful radio presenters to upload a two-minute video report on a subject of their choice, while unsigned bands are also asked to submit tracks to be considered for the playlist, with the potential of being heard by 9m users in the UK.
