Top Up TV offers free Setanta Sports 1 package

LONDON - Top Up TV, the paid-for service available on Freeview, is to hand new customers Setanta Sports 1 for free during the 2008/2009 Barclays Premier League football season.

Customers who buy a Top Up TV digital TV recorder will get a free Setanta Sports 1 season ticket that includes exclusive, live Barclays Premier League Games, England World Cup qualifying games (and home friendlies), the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, Magners League rugby, US PGA Tour golf, Indian Premier League cricket, and world title boxing from the UK and US.

Nick Markham, chief executive of Top Up TV, said the free season ticket should help to expand its service to more pay TV consumers.

Top Up TV’s move comes two weeks after BT Vision’s decision to offer the channel as part of its Gold, Silver and Bronze packages.

In July, Top Up TV signed a deal with Warner Bros to bring shows from the Hollywood studio to its video-on-demand offer. A Warner TV channel is now available on the Top Up TV Anytime.
