LONDON - John Smith's is launching a limited-edition cask-conditioned ale in support of its 250th brewing anniversary celebrations and to mark 90 years since the foundation of the Royal Air Force.

The ale, called Finest Hour, will be unveiled at RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, on 2 September. The Scottish & Newcastle-owned brand has pledged to donate 10p to the RAF Association's Wings Appeal for every pint sold.

Finest Hour will be available in selected pubs and clubs across the UK throughout September. Stockists will become a registered collection point for the Wings Appeal and will also receive a point-of-sale support kit, which includes an opportunity for drinkers to win VIP tickets to an RAF air show.
