'Big Brother' wins primetime slot with 3.2m viewers

LONDON - Channel 4's 'Big Brother' won the primetime slot last night with 3.2m viewers tuning in to watch the housemates perform Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', according to unofficial overnight figures.

Last night's episode saw the housemates successfully complete their shopping task by performing Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' video to Big Brother's satisfaction. Including Channel 4+1 figures it attracted 3.6m viewers and a 16.4% share of the 9-10pm audience.

BBC Two's news-based panel show 'Mock the Week', hosted by Dara O'Briain, came in second with 3.1m viewers and a 13.9% share of the 9-9.30pm audience.

The seventh show of the series featured guests David Mitchell and Lucy Porter along with regulars Frankie Boyle, Hugh Dennis, Russell Howard and Andy Parsons.

It was followed by BBC Two's new comedy series 'The Cup' which attracted 1.7m viewers and a 7.9% share of the 9.30-10pm audience.

The sitcom is set in the world of under-11s football with pushy parents living out their dreams through their children.

BBC One's 'SuperDoctors' and Five's 'Extraordinary People: The Woman with Giant Legs' tied for third place in the prime-time slot with 2.8m viewers each and a 12.6% share.

The first episode of Five's new 'Extraordinary People' documentary series profiled a woman with a rare condition that has left her legs four times larger than those of an average person.

ITV's 'Harley Street' private medical drama drew to a disappointing close last night attracting 2.7m viewers, down over a million on its first episode which pulled in 3.9m viewers.

Starring Paul Nicholls and Suranne Jones as medical professionals and ex-lovers, the final episode of the series netted a 12.5% share of the 9-10pm audience.
