LONDON - Yomego, the Scottish social media company, has developed a series of characters for children's entertainment company Jetix Europe, which will appear on its 19 websites as part of a pan-European redesign.

The Yomego platform will allow children aged six to 13 to build unique characters by choosing clothes, hairstyles, colours, eyes and expressions to suit their own personalities.

Jetix Europe wanted distinctive characters to help create a greater sense of community within its website.

Children will be offered incentives to encourage them to update their characters, which can be viewed in personal page links. They will also be able to use them when messaging their friends online.

Steve Richards, managing director of Yomego, said: "The new characters have been developed to give the kids the opportunity to create their own personalities on the site and build their own experience.

"Early feedback from the kids themselves indicates that characters they can personalise capture their attention and imagination."

Chiara Cipriani, director of digital for Jetix Europe, said: "Personalisation and interactivity are key focus areas in the new community environment of the relaunched site and Yomego's 3D characters help us in delivering against those two objectives."
