Daily Mail gives MailTxt users free international messages
LONDON - The Daily Mail is offering all new users of its MailTxt messaging service 50 free SMS messages that can be sent to any mobile network worldwide.
The Daily Mail says tens of thousands of consumers have signed up to MailTxt since it launched the platform earlier this year to build a more interactive relationship with its readers.
MailTxt is free and there are no subscription charges or commitments when using the service. It works by connecting a mobile phone to the internet momentarily, while sending and receiving MailTxts.

Sending and receiving a MailTxt from one registered user to another is free except for a 1.4p connection charge, applied by the networks.
The Mail said that sending an SMS via MailTxt from a registered user to a non-registered user is also significantly less expensive than other mobile operators, costing just 6.4p.
The service also offers a 0.5p MailTxt credit for every message sent and received via a subscriber's phone, access to Daily Mail main headlines and stories each day and the chance to participate in topical weekly polls.
Guy Zitter, group director of Daily Mail Group, said: "We are delighted that this ground-breaking and tech-savvy venture has been such a hit with our readers. It shows how highly adaptable our loyal consumers are to innovative services of this kind."
