New York Times weekly supplement undergoes redesign
LONDON - The New York Times International Weekly supplement, the pullout that comes free with The Observer, is to be relaunched in a bid to attract more readers to its flagship newspaper, The New York Times.
The supplement, currently distributed inside 31 newspapers across 28 countries, is undergoing the overhaul as it celebrates its fifth birthday. The revamp will feature a more streamlined design and new typography, along with a new leader article called Lens, which aims to provide a succinct analysis of the week's most talked about issues.

The new supplement will also feature contributions from journalists working on some of the newspapers distributing the insert, including The Observer in the UK. These journalists will provide additional analysis from their particular market.
A further change will be a page devoted to the US elections that will run until January next year.
Subjects covered in The International Weekly will range from current affairs, business, the environment, technology, art, music and social trends.
The International Weekly claims to reach a readership of six million and is distributed inside The Observer in the UK, Le Monde in France, El Pais in Spain, La Republica in Italy and Sueddeutsche Zeitung in Germany, among others.
