ITV Worldwide appoints digital chief

LONDON - ITV Worldwide has appointed Jason Binks from Roo Media as its vice president of digital and new media.

Binks, who will report to Steve Gallant, director of global content publishing, will be responsible for developing the company's digital business and create further opportunities within the international market.

According to Gallant: "We are delighted to welcome Jason Binks to join our team. His wealth of experience and contacts will enable us to really ramp up our activity in the digital space, particularly with regards to our international business."

He will work across all aspects of digital rights, including download rental and purchase and video on demand. He will also support the television and home entertainment sales teams at ITV Worldwide and deal with technology companies in this new environment.

Binks brings with him extensive digital having spent more than 10 years working in digital media. He joins from Roo Media, where he was senior sales and distribution director for Europe and had previous spells at Groove Mobile, Hyperlaunch New Media, Buongiorno and DX3 Technologies.

Binks said: "This is a really exciting time to be joining the company. There is so much untapped potential within the impressive ITV Worldwide portfolio of programming and brands, I know there are significant opportunities that we can take advantage of both domestically and internationally."
