London indie label offers free CD download

LONDON - In another victory for legal digital music downloads, indie-music label Wichita Recordings is offering a free CD for download on its website with music from artists including Conor Oberst, Euros Childs and The Bronx.

The homegrown London label, promoter of artists such as Bloc Party, Bright Eyes and Les Savy Fav, are allowing fans a CD download on its website to commemorate all of its upcoming and just-passed releases.

Users can sign up with their email and are then sent a .zip file for download, which includes new tracks from artists like Lovvers, Los Campesinos!, the Dodos and Peter Bjorn & John.

The release comes on the heels of reports that five UK citizens have been formally charged with "conspiracy to defraud" after uploading content to the now defunct file sharing site Oink.
