The self-titled Ocean Finance channel, which began broadcasting today on Sky channel 888, has been placed in the specialist category, beside Psychic TV, the Pub Channel and Audi Channel.
Today's programmes include 'Ocean Effect', which features real Ocean Finance customers sharing their experiences, and 'Ocean's Mortgages Revealed', which explains every step of the mortgage process and provides the re-mortgaging options available through Ocean.
Viewers are able to press the "red button" on the remote control to access further information about Ocean's products.
Ocean Finance is owned by US insurance giant AIG, which is the shirt sponsor of premiership football club Manchester United.

Even Audi can't make it work with sexy cars. Who fancies watching Derek, a mortgage adviser from Barnsley, talking about his variable endowment?
Agree, I can't imagine anything as dull as this. That's if AIG can afford it...
Their ads are so bad they make me want to shoot my TV. Why would I then watch a TV channel dedicated to them? And who in their right mind would watch a TV channel about this? Get a life.

24hour daddy found your scoota!..... this is torture. Hope I never find this channel.
I definitely won't be tuning in...
Some one should bring out Paint Dry TV for a laugh.
At least people would watch that for the irony.
Comments so far are quite interesting! I hope that I wont be tuning in as a consumer \(but maybe some Lehman boys and girls thought they wouldn't be either), but then again I never tuned into "sexy" car channels either. The content is an irrelevence compared with the math. Sell 3 loans/ remo's a day from it and it will probably be deemed a success! The things the American Fed are now going to be concerned with to protect their 80%!!!
I don't understand the negative comments? I have watched and think that it is informative and not patronising. It is aimed at a specific audience, if you are not that audience then obviously it is irrelevent!
Believe it or not, some people are in the market for financial products. Channels like this can help people who are turned down by snotty bank managers and the like.
Some of these people buy your products too, so do not sneer at them!
I agree with Peter, if you actually take the time to watch some of the shows they are exactly what they say they are. Helful hints and how to's. Some of the content is actually better then a lot of the rubbish on Ch4 and 5! Give them a chance I say, better then babes on a sofa!
