Blinkx unveils web-based version of BBTV
LONDON - Blinkx, the video search engine, launched a web-based version of its broadband television offering today (Thursday), enabling consumers to use BBTV without downloading software.
As with the previous version of BBTV, the new web-based release uses Blinkx's speech and visual recognition technology to link video to related content on the web.
The ability to watch straight from the browser enables a higher level of interaction with external web content, making it easier for viewers to navigate Blinkx's online programming.
