As well as developing an integrated launch campaign, The Gate will provide research and development work from this autumn in the run-up to the launch of the project.

The appointment does not affect Crisis' relationship with its direct marketing agency WWAV Rapp Collins.

Andrew Page, director of fundraising at Crisis, said: "We're really excited about the new, highly ambitious developments within the charity, and the quality of The Gate's thinking and creative ideas impressed us by showing that they could really get to grips with the complex task of raising new funds we have set.

"The launch date for the project is fast approaching but The Gate's extensive experience in the charity and financial sectors means that we're more than confident that they'll deliver some of the best results we've ever had, given the challenging timescale."

Jeremy Prescot, client services director at The Gate, said: "We were really inspired by the new project that Crisis has developed and excited to be a part of something that has the potential to make a difference to so many people's lives."

The Gate is based in London and Edinburgh with clients including The Royal British Legion, Scope, Diabetes UK, Norwich Union and Investec.

Crisis recently updated its logo and brand identity with a new look created by 300million.
