Standard offers charity version of Eros Card
LONDON - The Evening Standard is launching a new charity version of its customer loyalty Eros Card that enables readers to donate savings they make on the paper's cover price to their chosen charity.
The Eros Charity Card, which launches tomorrow (2 October), enables cardholders to purchase The Evening Standard for half price, as with all Eros cards. The charity card allows savings to be donated to a charity chosen from a pre-populated list. With gift aid, this donation could amount to 32p per copy purchased.

The 11-partner charities for the card launch are Mencap, NSPCC, Macmillan Cancer Support, SENSE, The Prostate Cancer Charity, Maggies, Demelza, Plan International, Diabetes UK, Kids Company and National Deaf Children's Society.
The Eros Charity Card will feature on a dedicated microsite within eroscard.co.uk - eroscard.co.uk/charity. Each charity will have its own regularly updated page within the site, with hyperlinks back to their own websites, to give cardholders easy access to up to date news.
Matt Harrison, sales and marketing director of the Evening Standard, said the economic downturn "may put more pressure on charities to raise sufficient funds, and we hope that the Eros Charity Card will help at this difficult time".
