Condé Nast turns to Grand for new style mag

LONDON - Condé Nast is to launch an as yet unnamed twice-yearly style magazine edited by former Pop editor-in-chief Katie Grand.

The first issue of the new title, which will be available next March, will be produced in a bespoke size, slightly larger than most monthlies, Condé Nast said.

Declining to outline significant details, Condé Nast said only that the magazine will "be edgy and experimental".

Nicholas Coleridge, managing director of Condé Nast, said: "It is a new departure for Condé Nast UK to publish an edgy, high-end style title in this sector, and in Katie Grand we have the perfect editor who brings the perfect team. This promises to be a very exciting launch."

Grand was formerly editor-in-chief of Pop, the fashion and art magazine she launched in 2000. Prior to that, Grand worked on the launch of Dazed & Confused and later moved to The Face, where she remained until 2001.

Meanwhile, Condé Nast - which also publishes titles such as House & Garden and Vanity Fair - is progressing on the launch of a UK edition of the US technology magazine Wired.
