Bauer Media launches e-tail fashion website
LONDON - Bauer Media is attempting to take a slice of the growing online retail sector with the launch of a website called Cocosa.com, which it will position as a high-end fashion portal selling luxury brands at discount prices.
The site is intended to take on the likes of Netaporter.com and Asos.com, which recently posted a 104% hike in sales over a six-month period. Bauer also wants the initiative to build on the reputation of its fashion titles, which include Grazia.

Cocosa.com, which will launch later this month, will inform pre-registered members by email of sales of fashions from specific leading designer brands. The sales will last for 48 hours.
Frances Card, brand director of Cocosa, said that Bauer was targeting luxury brands who wanted to access fashion-lovers who were willing to spend online.

This concept wasn’t created by Cocosa or Bauer. They’ve just rewrapped what we’ve been doing since July 2007 at http://www.secretsales.com. Secretsales.com was the UK’s first online private club selling brands like True Religion, Breil, Aquascutum, Furla and more at up to 80% off. Each week new brands are put on sale for a limited time frame and our members can request reminders for upcoming sales. Bauer are just jumping on the bandwagon. Let’s see, but I predict their website will be much like ours…
