EMI lyrics to appear on Sainsbury's Tu Clothing line
LONDON - EMI Music Publishing has licensed the lyrics from classic songs like 'My Girl' by The Temptations and 'Wild Thing' by The Troggs to be written across items in Sainsbury's Tu Clothing line.
The new collection, including products for men, women and children, will feature words from EMI's catalogue of 1.3m songs, including '[Theme from] The Monkees' and 'ABC' by The Jackson Five, among others.

Negotiated by licensing agency Corporate Creative Licensing, the agreement marks the latest in a series of initiatives under EMI's Lyric brand, with art posters, greeting cards and board games all having been launched in the last few years.
EMI was acquired last year by private equity firm Terra Firma for £3.2bn, in a deal that sought to improve the music label's dire financial circumstances through various licensing agreements.
Last September, Terra Firma replaced EMI's chief executive and chief financial officer with three executives who had no previous experience in the music industry, but rather, robust knowledge in finance, logistics and management.
Sainsbury's Tu Clothing range has turned the retailer into the UK's tenth-largest clothing retailer by volume, with year-on-year growth of 40% in 2007.
