Fallon unveils new Sony Bond ad: Watch it here

by Staff, Campaign 15-Oct-08, 11:40

LONDON - Fallon is launching its new Sony spot tonight, which promotes the Sony HD brand's association with the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace.

The 70-second spot breaks at 7.30pm tonight before the England football match on Setanta and stars Bond's latest incarnation, Daniel Craig, standing amid a series of dramatic explosions.

The spot opens on a close up of Bond's face. As the camera pans out to a wider shot, we see the secret agent attempting to remain fixed to the spot while debris from the explosions crashes into him from all directions. The spot concludes with the strap line "Bond in Sony High Definition."

The ad, which was directed by Baillie Walsh, will also be shown later in the evening at 9.10pm on Channel 4.

A telly ad for any telly. Nothing very Sony about it

Not great. I only watched it five seconds ago and already I can't remember what it us for. Although, to be fair, it would probably look better on a decent TV and not my computer screen. I think I'll watch it tonight in high-definition...on my Panasonic.

Neither Baillie nor Daniel seem convinced by the script. It feels like a rehearsal.

to say he's actually a talented actor he really struggles with the blue screen - his reaction to the explosion from over his shoulder is terrible. Sub par performance, middle of the road ad.
