Beckham launches Go3 healthy food range
LONDON - David Beckham launched Go3's global healthy food range, including Omega 3 fish fingers, pasta wraps and omelettes, at Wembley Stadium yesterday, after returning from England's triumphant 3-1 win against Belarus.
The former England captain and LA Galaxy player was involved in the development of the food range and will appear on the packaging and in the ads.
The 12 lines of the Beckham range, which is aimed at families, will be sold in Tesco stores across the UK.
It is the latest in long line of endorsements for Beckham who has also promoted Sharpie pens, Pepsi, Armani underwear, Adidas and Motorola's Razr mobile phones.
Go3 claims to be a balanced range of healthier meals developed to give a nutritional boost with some of the dishes containing key ingredients such as Omega 3, wholewheat and hidden vegetables.
Beckham said: "As a Dad I know how hard it is to get kids to eat the right things. Go3 is tasty food, kids can eat everyday but made healthier.
"I also know as a footballer, how important it is to eat the right things to perform well, so I think the Go3 range is a great way to help families take some small steps to be fit and healthy at affordable prices."
Neil Sanderson, managing director of Go3, said: "There is only one sportsman with as far reaching appeal across the world as David -- he is able to talk to parents and children alike with the experience of an elite sportsman and father."
The meals will sit alongside three nutritious food supplements, designed to help families eat a healthier and more balanced diet.
Earlier this month Go3 selected Chick Smith Trott to handle the UK launch of its supplements following a four-way pitch.
CST fought off competition from M&C Saatchi, The Red Brick Road and one other undisclosed agency to win the business.
