Silent Witness continues to dominate with 6.3m viewers
LONDON - 'Silent Witness' is continuing to shine pulling in 6.3m viewers on BBC One, almost double ITV1's audience for 'Greatest Cities of the World with Griff Rhys Jones', according to unofficial overnight figures.
The first part of a 'Silent Witness' two-parter called 'Judgement', with storylines involving Hasidic Jews and Polish builders, attracted 6.3m viewers and a 26.4% share of the 9pm-10pm audience on BBC One.
That dwarfed ITV1's travel series 'Greatest Cities of the World with Griff Rhys Jones', which drew 3.3m viewers and a 13.6% share.
In the last programme in the series comedian Rhys Jones visited Paris, where he attempted to work as a waiter in a brasserie and explored the city's underground tunnels.
US drama 'Heroes', starring Milo Ventimiglia and Hayden Panettiere, pulled in 2.2m viewers on BBC Two and an 8.8% share of the 9pm-9.45pm audience. It was followed by 'Heroes Unmasked' which netted 1.4m viewers and a 5.9% share of the 9.45pm-10pm audience.
Channel 4's observational documentary 'The Family' attracted 1.9m viewers and a 7.7% share across the hour. Including Channel 4+1 figures it reached 2m viewers.
Travel series 'Paul Merton in India', which last night saw Merton meet a didgeridoo-playing politician and visit a charity that works with the children of prostitutes, drew 1.7m viewers and a 6.8% share of the 9pm audience to Five.
