Wired UK prepares for launch with commercial appointments

LONDON - Conde Nast has appointed senior executives Rachel Reidy and Claire Dobson to lead the commercial team for the UK launch of tech-magazine Wired.

Reidy has been named advertisement director, joining from the CondeNet UK commercial team where she held the equivalent position.

Reidy joined the digital division of Conde Nast in 2004 as senior account manager, and was then promoted to ad manager in 2005 where she helped launch Conde Nast's first standalone website Stylefinder.com. She was also involved in the recent re-launch of Vogue.co.uk.

Dobson has been named promotions director, joining from Press Holdings Media Group, publisher of The Spectator, where she was head of client sales. She previously worked on the commercial team for The Guardian and The Observer, including the launch of Observer Woman and Observer Music Monthly.

Jamie Jouning, publisher for Wired, said: "Both Rachel and Claire bring tremendous wealth of relevant commercial experience to this launch, and together we're looking forward to spreading the Wired message and putting the magazine front of mind with the advertising community."

The UK edition of Wired will be published monthly, and the debut issue arrives on newsstands April 2 with the May issue.
