Hastings Direct reviews £8 million media

LONDON - Insurance Australia Group, the owner of the Hastings Direct motor insurance brand, is reviewing its £8 million media planning and buying business.

The review, which is being run through the AAR, kicked-off on Friday with initial approaches to agencies.

Hastings is also expected to approach direct and integrated agencies about its working across its business.

Insurance Australia Groups operates several UK businesses, including Equity Red Star, the UK’s fifth largest motor insurer, and Open & Direct Insurance, which offers insurance across a range of sectors.

The bulk of its media spend is focused on Hastings Direct, which relaunched earlier this year with a new look and the redesign of its brand icon, Harry.

Media for the brand is currently split between Feather Brooksbank, which handles TV, and Story, which handles non-TV buying.

Integrated agency Story introduced the strapline Do your thing for a Hastings TV campaign in February.
