Tour operator promotes new UK call centre

LONDON - A tour operator is capitalising on the public's positive reaction to moving its call centre back to the UK by running a regional promotion.

Jet2holidays.com created 30 jobs in Yeadon, Yorkshire, when it moved its call centre back from India last month.

After market research showed consumers welcomed the move and picked the Yorkshire accent as their favourite, the company decided to use the new staff in a Yorkshire-only marketing campaign.

The campaign is running for two weeks from today, advertising special offers that depend on which member of staff answers a call.

For example if Steve answers, the caller gets 10% cashback and if Lucy answers they get €50 free holiday money.

Jet2holidays.com's managing director Richard Bodin will be handling calls. He said: "One lucky customer will be holidaying for free if they speak to me."

The offers are open to anyone calling from within the UK.
