ITV1's The Commander beats Spooks by 300,000
LONDON - Crime drama 'The Commander' returned on ITV1 last night pulling in 5.3m viewers and narrowly beating BBC One's 'Spooks' which attracted 5m, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The first instalment of 'The Commander - Abduction', a three-parter by Lynda La Plante concluding on Wednesday, attracted 5.3m viewers and a 22.4% share of the 9pm-10pm audience on ITV1.
The drama, starring Amanda Burton, won the prime-time slot but was down on the last series which launched with 6.5m and had a series average of 5.6m.
BBC One's 'Spooks', starring Hermione Norris and Peter Firth, came in second in the ratings battle with 5m viewers and a 21% share of the 9pm-10pm audience.
Channel 4's 'Time Team' special 'The Lost WWI Bunker', marking the 90th anniversary of the end of World War I, drew 2.6m viewers and an 11.8% share of the 9pm-10.30pm audience. Including Channel 4+1 ratings it reached 2.8m.
The special saw Tony Robinson joining an archaeological expedition exploring a perfectly preserved bunker called the Vampir.
It beat BBC Two's 'World War II Behind Closed Doors' documentary, which netted 1.6m viewers and a 6.5% share of the 9pm-10pm audience.
The first episode of the series focused on the secret history of the non-aggression pact between Hitler and Stalin.
Five's 'Unbreakable' adventure series with explorer Benedict Allen, which last night saw the challengers attempting to conquer the alligator-infested Everglades in the US, attracted 806,000 viewers and a 3.3% share of the 9pm hour slot.
